Dark Knight

2008 July 20
by William

This past Friday I invited the lab and some of the graduate students in the department over to my apartment to watch Batman Begins. On Saturday we all met up and went to see Dark Knight (the IMAX: Experience.) Apparently a lot of other people did too. I thougt it was great! Probably the best super hero movie I’ve seen, other than Iron Man. Heath Ledger was just flat out creepy as the Joker. The film was long, it was dark, but it was also very entertaining. I highly recommend to anyone that hasn’t already seen it. (My parents also saw the movie this weekend, but did not enjoy it as much as I did. It may have been a little too dark for them.)

It was too dark for me. I wanted to just kill “The Joker” and end the movie about half way through it. Obviously I’m in the minority since it was the big box office draw this week-end.

Todd saw it yesterday & said he really liked it! He said he thought the Joker made the movie. I will not be going to see it anytime soon, however, I’m sure when it finally comes on cable Todd will make me watch it over & over &over…(as he does w/ all of his favorites).

I think a lot of people were caught of guard by how dark it was. Batman Begins and Dark Knight were both directed by Christopher Nolan. Here is clearly going in a different direction than the previous directors.

Im trying to wait until I go to New Orleans this weekend so I can see it at IMAX. But after hearing everyone’s comments, I dont know if I’ll be able to wait.

Too dark for me. Had a nightmare after seeing it, seriously! I needed there to be a little more of a light at the end of the tunnel. Carl loved it though on the normal screen and is trying to drag me to see it for time number 2 on IMAX this Sunday… we’ll see.
