Knife Skills

Kyllan and I had a busy weekend in Dallas. Saturday included a knife skills cooking class and a formal ball. We spent Sunday doing some shopping and, of course, watching football. A few pictures from the weekend can be found here.

you guys look great! Were you both learning knife skills? Was the ball a part of the knife skills class? That would be an interesting pairing.

Haha! That would definitely be interesting. The gala was a separate event from the knife skills class. We took the knife skills class at Central Market Cooking School. Central Market is a specialty gourmet grocery store chain here in Texas. It is awesome!! It’s hard to believe that a grocery store could be so great, but they have all kinds of food that you can’t find in a typical grocery store. They have every kind of meat or cheese known to man it seems. They also have several prepared foods where you can take it home, warm it up, and you have a whole meal ready to go. The one downside is that it’s nickname is “Central Mark-Up” b/c it does tend to be more expensive that your typical grocery store, but for the hard to find items, it is worth it! Unfortunately the closest one to us is about 40 minutes away (we are about 40 minutes away from everything in Rockwall), so I don’t get to shop there very often. Several Rockwall residents made their request for a Central Market in Rockwall, so we’ll see if the owners hear our cries :-)

Thanks! The class is something I never would have done on my own. I really enjoyed it.
