Random Post #4

I don’t think either of us has done anything all that interesting this week. Kyllan has been attending some events for a conference in Dallas the past couple of days and I will be attending a conference in the middle of nowhere this weekend. (Seriously, I have no idea where the conference is at.) I’ll be giving a presentation this Sunday on some pretty interesting data I’ve generated in the lab. Hopefully I’ll get the manuscript out soon.

What are you guys watching for the new fall tv season? I caught the pilots for Chuck and the “re-imagining” of Bionic Woman. I thought both were interesting, but don’t know that I will continue watching. One new show that I think I will continue to watch is Life. There really isn’t anything all that good on. Unfortunately, I will have to wait until January for three of my favorite shows to air new episodes. (24, The Wire and Battlestar Galactica.)

  1. Hi Kyllan and Cody!!!

Kyllan, I LOVE Viking courses, they are the greatest. Cody, go to Stanton98.myevent.com and register for our class reunion. Warning: If you don’t register, I will be doing so on your behalf, and I WILL include then and now pics if I have to…

    Ciao!

  2. I’m still tuning into Grey’s Anatomy, although it’s not quite the same without Isaiah Washington. I was a huge fan of Heroes last season, but have managed to miss the first 2 of this season… I’ll be tuning in on Monday though, time permiting.

  3. We’re watching Heroes and Ugly Betty. Ugly Betty is a show I started watching to spend time with Tami, but I’ve actually come to enjoy it. We just finished the second season of Eureka. We highly recommend that show if you can find it on Netflics or DVD. Its a very fun, original show. Tami watches Grey’s Anatomy, but I just can’t get over how incorrectly they depict the medicine. I’ve recorded Journeyman, because the star was in Rome on HBO. I haven’t watched it yet.

I am a big fan of the UFC, so I’m watching the Ultimate Fighter. But most importantly, IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON AND BASKETBALL IS SOON TO START! Oh yeah, I’m opting out of 24 this year. Its getting a bit to sensational. And Will if you’re ever bored, there’s always Halo.

  4. Joscelyne- you can go ahead and get the then and now pics together b/c there just doesn’t seem to be enough convincing him to go. I think both his mother and I have tried to no avail. I WILL be going to my reunion.
As far as shows… I have not been able to stay on top of the shows this season since everything started right after we got back from the Honeymoon and work was busy, but I make sure to TIVO the shows I like. I am back to Watching Grey’s and Desperate Housewives. I have also picked up Private Practice (the spinoff from Grey’s). I hate to admit it, but I also watch America’s Next Top Model. At the cooking classes, some of the other students were talking about Top Chef, so I watched the season Marathon last Saturday while I was cleaning and watched the finale off my TIVO a few hours ago.
Neil & Tami- Ugly Betty is great. I downloaded a few episodes on my video IPOD and watched some during our long layover on the way to the honeymoon as was laughing out loud in the airport! William picked up on the fact I liked it and surprised me with the first season on DVD, so I am trying to catch up. I have been recording the new episodes until then.
At this moment I am watching football, partly b/c I do enjoy college football (and this is a good season with all the upsets including #2 today and perhaps #1 depending on how the next 9 min play out) and partly b/c I want to update William if he calls. Speaking of William, at this moment he is at a conference in the middle of nowhere and has no cell phone reception, no television and is sleeping in bunk beds in a cabin somewhere in Colorado. Those of us who know him well can only imagine his mood, so I am sure he will have some stories to share upon his return.

  5. Willian in a bunk bed, no cell phone reception, no television, no internet connection, no Kyllan? My new son is having a Terrible, Horrible, No good, Very Bad weekend. (taken from the title of a children’s book “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day”) Or…. maybe he enjoyed the peace and quiet to prepare for his presentation. I am confident William’s presentation was outstanding. Can’t wait to here the news.
    Hang in there William!
