Suggestions

William and I are settling down from what was a very busy work week for both of us, especially for William who called me this morning when I was making breakfast at 7am (the first time I think I have ever made a hot breakfast before work) and reported he was just then going to bed . We need something to blog about. Any suggestions?  Any suggestions for Christmas gifts?  I have no idea what I want this year.  I doubt William will buy me clothes or stuff for the house, which is about all I think I want at the moment, so I am stuck.  William has already begun compiling his list (as usual).

  1. My list is a little boring — lots of stuff that I want for the house too, but those are the things that I use! However there was an item in the last bed bath and beyond flyer that I have to have. It is a touchless soap dispenser for your house for 39.99! Let’s just say that there is a big old black ring around that thinger! I want one for every sink!

I am also hoping for a set of mexican glasses and pitcher that I have been wanting forever, but just haven’t gotten around to buying them.

I would also like some new charms for my charm bracelet.

Oh yea, and a babysitter so that I can go to the Alamo Bowl!

Blog suggestions — what the heck is going on with college football this year!

  2. Firstly, the best Christmas gift is to realize the true meaning of Christmas. Let us celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His gift to us is eternal life, for those who love and trust HIM as their personal Savior. That gift is PRICELESS!
Let’s not take Christ out of Christmas.

Secondly, the next best gift is giving of your time, talent and service to others, not only this Christmas season, but, everyday!

Third is spending time with your family. Everyday is a gift from God. Reach out and tell every member of your family “Did I tell you I love you today?” “I love you”.

    Merry Christmas!

  3. Kim P., touchless soap dispensers? Really? You’re a microbiologist, you can’t be worried about germs. (Yes, you still are. Once a microbiologist, always a microbiologist)… I don’t even know what Mexican glasses are. Babysitter? I figured you guys would want the kids with you so you could start indoctrinating them now. Are you really planing to go? Last year was the first time in over a decade that my dad and I did not go to a bowl game. I’ll make a football post before the bowls start.

Mrs. Brown, we will be sure to keep those things in mind.

  4. I have two kids now that get sick at the drop of a hat — of course I am worried about germs! Scott is going to the game. We want to take the kids to the game and we tried to figure out a way for me and the kiddos to go and tailgate and stuff and then just not go to the game, but we figure whatever we plan, someone will get sick or something and it won’t work out. (It would have been easier if the game was an afternoon game too — 7pm is NOT the best time around here!) I think that it would be awesome to take them, but planning ahead with little ones is almost impossible. We’re going to play it by ear and see what happens!

  5. What’s your favorite childhood Christmas memory? Your favorite gift? What types of Christmas traditions did your family have? What traditions do you plan to start?

Those are my suggestions for blog posts. Gift suggestions? You guys are on your own for that one 😉

  6. Hi Guys:

My Christmas list is always extensive and expensive, so I am a little reluctant to share, as most people look at me strange. But since you asked, I’ll share. There is a giraffe print satchel handbag by Dooney & Bourke that is to die for, Seasons 3 & 4 of Sex and the City, a Chocolate pair of Stiletto boots, and a charm bracelet from Tiffany & Co. A girl can never go wrong with a spa day. I reccomend Bliss Dallas (specifically the double choc pedicure and the oxygen facial). As for the house, I am gifting myself a set of Le Creuset cookware in Blue, and I am loving reed difusers so I plan to get one for each bathroom.

  7. Jos, you know how when the teacher spoke in Charlie Brown cartoons it always sounded like, “Wump wump, wump…?” I had to get Kyllan to translate. I’m having such a hard time understanding that she is going to go over it again with me tomorrow. Should I e-mail Kyle or does he already know about this list?

  8. He knows about the list…here is my attempt to translate:

Le Creuset Cookware = blue pots and pans
Reed Difusers = home fragrance oil w/ sticks
Chocolate stiletto boots = brown boots w/ heels
Dooney & Bourke bag = purse
Bliss Spa = pedicure and chocolate together..it gets no better

  9. Kim P- I like your list
Nikki- We will definitely use your suggestions for post for the upcoming few weeks.
Joscelyne- I like your list also. We received some Le Creuset as wedding gifts, so I had to explain to William, “You know… the dish I had the mac & cheese in”. I am a fan of their cookware. It is great. I love the reed diffusers also. I have one in my office and people always comment on how nice it smells. Thanks for the tip about Bliss. I will definitely have to check that out.
