As many of you know, my mother is a breast cancer survivor. To mark breast cancer awareness month Kyllan and I have changed the background of the blog to pink. Find out more about breast cancer here.

TV
There has been so much hype about the new fall tv season that I couldn’t help but catch a few shows. I watched Glee and Community last week and thought they were both pretty funny, but I don’t know if I will keep watching. I felt same with Modern Family this week. FlashForward has been talked about so much that I feel obligated to watch. Other than NCIS and The Mentalist there aren’t any returning shows coming back yet that I am really excited about. This is sounding too much like an advertisement, so I am going to stop now…
Here is a good post about the fall tv lineup.
Knife Skills
Kyllan and I had a busy weekend in Dallas. Saturday included a knife skills cooking class and a formal ball. We spent Sunday doing some shopping and, of course, watching football. A few pictures from the weekend can be found here.
Anniversary
Kyllan and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on September 8th. We kicked off our celebration on Saturday with a couples massage at the Ritz Carlton, where we stayed over Labor Day weekend. We have both been pretty busy with work recently and both of therapist commented on how tense we were. Sunday we tried to take a tour of the Cowboys new stadium. When we arrived at the stadium at 11am we found a packed parking lot. Tours were scheduled to take place until 5 pm, but we ere turned away at the door and told they had already sold out for the day. Oh well. Maybe we will get a chance to see the inside of the stadium during a college game. I don’t think we will be paying Jerry Jones prices for Cowboys’ tickets anytime soon. Sunday night we to see D.L. Hughley at The Improv. As expected, we had great time. As usual, Kyllan laughed so hard she cried. Monday we just relaxed, and of course, were devastated by a last minute FSU loss to Miami. Okay, Kyllan enjoyed a close game that came down to the last play. I was devastated. Tuesday we celebrated our anniversary with dinner at The Place at Perry’s. The food and service were excellent. It definitely makes our list of favorites and we will be returning.

District 9
I saw the movie District 9 this past weekend and thought that it was amazing. It was one of the most thought provoking Sci-Fi films I’ve seen in a very long time. Real Sci-Fi should explore the human condition, but most movies calming the genre get sidetracked by futuristic technology and and too many special effects. District 9 had aliens, explosions and amazing cg, but what really made the film was the subtext. Here are two articles that don’t give too much away: here and here. The teaser trailer for the movie is below. If you haven’t already seen it, you should try to this coming weekend.
Congratulations
Kyllan and I would like to congratulate our good friends, Neil and Tami, who welcomed the arrival of their second child this past weekend!
Updated
I updated our version of WordPress this weekend. There are a few strange things going on with the site. Hopefully I will have everything worked out in a few days.
EDIT: I fixed everything that I noticed. Please let me know if you spot something else.
On another note, I saw the movie Funny People this weekend and thought it was pretty good. It wasn’t your typical Judd Apatow film. It was still pretty vulgar at times, but it had a lot more drama then his films usually do.
Reunion
My mother’s family held their annual family reunion this past weekend in Gatlinburg Tennessee. You can find some photos on my flickr page. Below is a slideshow of the photos. Kyllan and I missed all of the events Friday. Many of the photos were taken in Ginuess Book of World Records’ museum and the aquarium.
Busy
I can’t believe that so much time has passed since our last post. Kyllan and I have been incrediably busy, but there really hasn’t been any news to report. Things should quite down for in the next month or so and hopefully we will return to posting more frequently. Until then, we will do the best we can. This weekend my mother’s family is having a reuion. Unlike the past month, there should be plenty of pictures from the weekend’s events.
