That Time of Year

It’s that time of year again. I am in Boston this week for the American Society for Microbiology general meeting. This is largest conference in my field and the only one I mark on my must attend list every year. I will be in meetings and seminars all day for he next three days and I have a poster presentation Tuesday. After the conference I am traveling to Dallas to spend the weekend with Kyllan.

Family Reunion

Kyllan and I are traveling to Atlanta this weekend for a family reunion. This reunion is of my Dad’s family. Our good friend Neil will also be in Atlanta this weekend. The trip will give me and Kyllan a chance to meet his son Noah.

Anybody seeing the new Indiana Jones movie? Let me know how it is.

Happy Birthday Kyllan!

I would like to wish a very happy birthday to my wife, Kyllan. Luckily our timing worked out pretty well and the two of us were able to celebrate a few days early while she was still in Denver. We tried a new restaurant for dinner, but stuck to one of our regular stops for breakfast. Apparently Kyllan is a fan of Jamaican Jerk Pork Chops. Who knew? For those of you dying to find out, we managed to see Iron Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Baby Mama. I will save my reviews for another post. There are a few photos of our weekend on my Flickr account.

Call or Text message Kyllan now!

Video from Honeymoon

I am in Dallas this weekend to celebrate 6 months of marriage with Kyllan. 6 months and it has only taken me this long to do something with the video we took while on our honeymoon. It’s a lot of footage, so I will be breaking it up and posting it through out the week. Think of it as a celebration! This first video is of the two of us discussing the morning before and the events leading up to our wedding ceremony.

Another Fun Visit

I had a great time with Kyllan this weekend. We didn’t do very much, so there aren’t any exciting stories. We tried to go to a few popular restaurants, but apparently there is some special restaurant week going on and a lot of places are half off; Every place we tried was booked up. We tried to see Definitely, Maybe, but we got the show time wrong and arrived at the theater too early. Instead of waiting we decided to see Vantage Point. Warning! DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! It wasn’t necessarily bad, but it was definitely annoying. You’ve been warned. Don’t make me tell you “I told you so.” (I wanted to see Be Kind, Rewind, but Kyllan said, “no.”)

Random Post #5

Sorry for the lack of post recently. Kyllan and I have been extremely busy the past couple of weeks. There hasn’t been much going on for me outside of the lab. Kyllan will be in town this weekend. We were thinking about going up to the mountains, but it looks like an experiment is going to keep us in the city. Any thoughts on must see movies in theaters or on DVD? I posted a few photos form her last visit on my Flickr page.

We have a couple of new links in our friends and family section. One of Kyllan’s line sisters started a blog a few months ago: Balancing Act. Also, the Brazile family has decided to restart their blog the Brazile Brief.

Really Late Video

Wow! I can’t believe that 5 months has already passed. No one has seen it, but Kyllan and I really did take video during our honeymoon. Below is a tour of suite at the Regent Palms in Turks and Caicos. We have more video of us by the pool reflecting back on the wedding, but I haven’t done anything with the footage. I’ll try to get the rest of the video out by 6 months. (Sorry, I’ve been busy.)

Not much

Sorry we haven’t posted in a few days. William is working long hours in the lab and I am just doing my usual routine. It was great to see William this past weekend in Denver. We had breakfast with one of his fraternity brothers and his fiance and also went to a housewarming party. We are considering going a weekend getaway to the mountains on one of my next visits. If anyone has any suggestions for Colorado resorts, let us know.
