Updated

I updated our version of WordPress this weekend. There are a few strange things going on with the site. Hopefully I will have everything worked out in a few days.

EDIT: I fixed everything that I noticed. Please let me know if you spot something else.

On another note, I saw the movie Funny People this weekend and thought it was pretty good. It wasn’t your typical Judd Apatow film. It was still pretty vulgar at times, but it had a lot more drama then his films usually do.

Reunion

My mother’s family held their annual family reunion this past weekend in Gatlinburg Tennessee. You can find some photos on my flickr page. Below is a slideshow of the photos. Kyllan and I missed all of the events Friday. Many of the photos were taken in Ginuess Book of World Records’ museum and the aquarium.

Busy

I can’t believe that so much time has passed since our last post. Kyllan and I have been incrediably busy, but there really hasn’t been any news to report. Things should quite down for in the next month or so and hopefully we will return to posting more frequently. Until then, we will do the best we can. This weekend my mother’s family is having a reuion. Unlike the past month, there should be plenty of pictures from the weekend’s events.

The 4th

Kyllan was in Denver this past weekend for the 4th. We had a great time hanging out time together and just relaxing. We managed to catch two movies, The Proposal and Public Enemies, while she was here. Interestingly, I found The Proposal very entertaining and didn’t really care for Public Enemies. The Proposal didn’t do anything new, but it was executed well. As predictable as The Proposal was, somehow the characters were more developed than in Public Enemies. I thought that Public Enemies had some great acting and cinematography, but the story didn’t do anything for me. It tried to  do too much with too many characters and the lack of focus left me bored.

Kyllan’s trainer was happy to hear that we continued going to the gym while she was here. We did manage to eat out quite a bit, but we keep an eye on our portion sizes.

Where are the Codys?

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still here. William and I have both been pretty busy lately. Unfortunately, I am behind on my recipes. However, the tradeoff was using some free time to get a personal trainer at the gym. It has been money well spent! I love my trainer. I am enjoying it thoroughly and seeing some great results. Today was session 8 of 13 and it kicked my butt! We are on to phase 2 of my training and the intensity has been turned up 200%. I am very excited about finishing strong and fitting back into some clothes that are sitting neglected in my closet đŸ™‚ More importantly, I am feeling better about my fitness level, and making my workouts part of my daily routine. I have been to the gym every day for the past 27 days (except Friday and Saturday of this past weekend when I was out of town). This is a huge accomplishment for me, especially since work can keep me tied up with dinner meetings, etc. Some nights, I was at the gym at 10 or 11pm, but I went. I am very proud of myself! Still struggling a bit with the sweets, but I am getting better.

William has been very busy in the lab as usual, but has also been frequenting the gym.

Anyway…we will try to blog again soon.

Random Post #9

I don’t have anything to post about. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are still here and doing well.

The Hangover is the funniest movie I’ve seen all year, however, I wouldn’t recommend it to my parents.)

Kyllan saw the new Star Trek movie a second time. You read that right, she saw it twice!

My old high school, Stanton College Preparatory School, was recently ranked the #4 public school in the country by Newsweek.

I was not all that excited about the new iPhone. The best thing about it is the price drop on its predecessor.

I really like Hulu Desktop. Broadcast TV and cable are just one step closer to being dead.

Memorial Day

I spent the weekend with Kyllan in Dallas. It was a last minute decision, I bought the ticket Thursday night, but we managed to put together a fun filled trip.

Saturday morning I joined Kyllan as she volunteered at an event for a charity organization. Saturday evening I convinced her to see the new Star Trek movie. I had already seen it, and absolutely loved it, but couldn’t pass up an opportunity to expose my wife to quality sci-fi. And guess what? She enjoyed it! I’m telling you, Kyllan is a scifi fan, she just doesn’t know it yet. Sunday we went to church and joined Kyllan’s sister and her family for brunch. After eating we hit up the outlet mall for 50% off sales. Later we had mini-24 marathon. (We used to both watch 24, but I schedules got so busy that we have been unable to keep up.) Monday we had our own little BBQ. Pictures from the weekend are on my Flickr. A slide show is below.

Mother’s Day in Jacksonville

Kyllan and I spent Mother’s Day in Jacksonville with my parents. It was a fun-filled, yet exhausting, weekend. In between a belated  birthday celebration for Kyllan and the Mother’s Day festivities we helped my father setup his new tv and wireless internet network. There was also the traditional computer help that comes with every visit. Pictures from the trip can be found on my Flickr. A slide show of pictures from the trip is below. (The first few pictures are of Kyllan opening a birthday gift from my parents. This is NOT any type of hint concerning her and Mother’s Day.)
