Cody Reunion Wrap-Up

Kyllan and I had a great time at the reunion this past weekend in Memphis. I really have to thank my parents for inviting her up. So far this year we have managed to see each on about the monthly basis. Hopefully we can keep this up. My parents and I hung out at my grandmother’s house on Friday until it was time to pick up Kyllan from the airport. Saturday was the Civil Rights Museum and the family banquet. My mother’s mother and her three sisters still live in Memphis and joined us that evening. (My parents met as college students at Memphis State.) In between we checked out Beale Street. We also caught “The Da Vinci Code” movie. The book was much better than the movie. (I’m not sure what all the controversy is about. The book has never claimed to be more than fiction and one of the overall themes was that faith is worthy of its’ own sake.) Sunday was church and an afternoon cookout at my grandmother’s house. The air conditioning was out at my grandmother’s house and it was HOT! As always, you can check out more pictures on my flickr site. Most of my pictures are of my immediate family, which now includes Kyllan, and Beale Street. My Dad took a lot of pictures at the reunion events, so we will all have to wait for him to upload those… if he ever does.

  1. Just dropping by, keep the pictures coming. Man I play GRAW too… actually my Video card is too weak, ? maybe soon we can collaborate on some FPS action

  2. Dr. Cody posted his photos from the reunion on his flickr site within in 48 hr deadline
his son gave him, so you can see more photos from the trip by going to his flickr site.
The link is in the right margin of this page.

  3. For those of you scratching your head, you can only see chinese characters on computers with chinese font installed… Brian, I have GRAW for the xbox 360. I don’t really play on the PC. If you have a 360 and no one has told me, I am very upset. If you don’t have one, you need go pick one up quick.

  4. Did you figure out what the chinese characters say or are you seeing a bunch of boxes… I still play everything
on the PC… and refuse to buy a console… so I can say i’m not addicted to Video Games.

I think i’m only fooling myself.

  5. I’m not seeing characters on my home computer… Stop fooling yourself. Go pick up a 360. It will be cheaper than replacing your video card every year.

  6. Modding, trainers, emulators, and cooperative play. A console may be cheaper but has yet to impress me. Sports games
are better, but the PC is the backbone of true video gaming. I haven’t purchased a video card ever over $90.00
and I usually run them for at least 2+ years.

So I don’t think the 360 is economically efficient. Plus Sony with the Blue-Ray will take the cake soon.

Once you get on Teamspeak with some buddies in a clan and experience changing content of a PC game.
You may understand the way of the PC. Good MMO’s are just now hitting the “Console” market.

Huxley is one coming out for the 360. If you like GRAW and the co-op mode, you’ll love “Huxley”-

I’ve been concentration on business instead of Video Gaming, I have alot of projects and goals to meet this year.

  7. I give up on the PC/Console debate. If/when you change your mind, you know where to find me. Huxley has been getting a lot of hype. I will have to check it out when it comes out. Rumor has it that it will be cross platform. I’ll believe that when I see it, but if so, we will have to meet up… PS3? It’s a giant beta-ray blue-ray player that happens to play games. I don’t have a 1080p screen, so that doesn’t do me any good. Not to start another debate, but I think HD-DVD will win out. Actually, I don’t think there is much of a demand for either. Whoever figures out a way to deiliver HD content over the net efficently, and without DRM preventing transfer to other devices, will win out. I think that will happen before either of the two media based formats are widely accepted.

  8. Looks like you are the man to call when I finally decide to upgrade to a GPS system in the car. Kyllan and I were thinking about going to one of the Sandals resorts for our Honeymoon. She will have to give Stephanie a call.
