Changes

I may be making some changes to the site. Please let me know what you think of the look and if everything is working properly.

EDIT: I am having some issues. One feature, Kyllan didn’t even know we had on the last template, the other can’t be seen in Internet Explorer. (I use firefox, so should you…) Both issues deal with site navigation. You use to be able to click on the header at any time to return to the front page. Now you have to use the “home” link at the top of the image. In firefox there is extra text in the header, that I don’t want, that functions as a link. I can’t seem to fix one issue without breaking the other. (Issue fixed. I’ll save the other issue for later.) Kyllan and Kim N. gave the update a thumbs up. Let me know what you think… Back to firefox. I set most of my links to open new windows (pop). In firefox this opens a new tab in the current window. As Kyllan reminded me earlier today, most people don’t use firefox. In the future, would you prefer I make links open in your current window? Am I wasting my time even posting links? (Tab browsing is great. It allows users to open mutiple web pages inside of one window while web surfing. IE 7 will also feature tab browsing. The beta is now available, but if you didn’t know that, you probably not interested in using a beta. The beta for media player 11 is also available…

  1. The site looks great on my work computer. I can see all of the heading at the office now. I will check it out at home also because the two computers have always displayed the site differently. Great job!

  2. The site should look the same on both screens now. That was part of the reason for the update. The other was cosmetic. How do you feel about the font and text colors? I’m not sure about the link colors.

  3. I think it looks great too! The layout looks good and it appears the graphics will appear the same regardless of what web browser people use. I think the subtle differences improved the overall appearance of the page.

  4. It’s amazing! How did you incorporate the video into the webpage? I like the new look of the site.

  5. Thanks. The video is played using a flash player… long story short, video quality is not that great, but simple code allows it to be played directly from your browser without requiring you to download software. Sites like youtube and google video will host a video, convert it to flash and even give you the code to cut and paste into the post. Previously, I was using a text editor that automatically wrote the HTML for post, but would not allow for the video code. A recent update allowed me to turn off the editor for my post but leave it enabled for Kyllan.

  6. Hi William,

I thanks for loving our daughter, she loves you very, very, much, and now, so do we….hope you are doing well, continue with your writing..you will do just fine. We love your new house, and the (surround sound system). I know together you and Kyllan will make it a beautiful home full of love. Hope to see you this Thanksgiving in Cleveland.
