The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 0-9 on Moday Night Football in a hard hitting defensive game. It only took 3 and 1/2 quaters for the announcers to stop talking about how great Roethlisberger and Steelers are and acknowledge that another team was even on the field. Why is it so hard to get the media to respect Jacksonville? 12-4 last season people! One of the best defenses in the leauge. Maybe the best. Did they think last season was a fluke? Well, I guess they don’t now.

Monday Night Football
Just a reminder that the Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Moday Night Football. For those of you who don’t know, I am a huge Florida State fan and my father is proud University of Tennessee alum. Both teams suffered heart breaking loses Saturday. We need a Jaguar win to keep our spirits up during the rest of the week. At least we saw a Wake Forest win, Norte Dame get their butts whipped and Louisville stomp all over the Hurricanse (who stomped all over their mid-field logo during pre-game.)
In other news, I added a new link to the “Friends and Family” section of the right sidebar. It goes to the personal blog of my cousin Nikki. It is titled “…and this is my heart,” as in “I’ve always used writing as a way to share my thoughts and my heart.” She told me about her blog at the reunion.
If you are wondering, my friend Neil is now the proud father a healthy baby boy. He just hasn’t updated his blog since he left with his wife for the hospital. Maybe one day he will share some pictures… don’t hold your breath though.
That’s it. It was a pretty boring week and it looks like we have a few more ahead of us…
EDIT: Penn State defeated Youngstown. With the FSU loss, JoePa moves one win closer to the all-time I-A win record. Apologies to Kim P. for the omission.
Test
If you haven’t noticed, I have been playing around with a few things on the site. I figured out that interface problem that prevented me from embeding video directly into the blog on an earlier post. (I will spare you details.) Below should be a video of an item on Kyllan’s wish list.
Chris
Yesterday my department had our hurricane preparedness meeting. It appears we had good timing because tropical storm Chris appears to be heading towards the gulf. We are not getting nervous or anything, but lets just say we are keeping an eye out. People here aren’t ready for another hurricane. If you haven’t already herd me say it, I can’t wait to get out of this city.
In other news… Well, I don’t really have any other news. The first mover stopped by to get an estimate for the move to Denver. Kim N. uploaded some more pictures to her flickr account. The Jacksonville Jaguars started training camp. (Kim P., did you see that Joe Paterno says he is going to coach for ten more years?!?)
Drip, Drip, Drip…
It rained Wednesday, and we know what that means!!! More water damage for William. The water is actually getting into the air duct for the restroom and dripping right out of the vent. It is also seeping through the ceiling in the bathroom and utility closet (pictured right). The apartment complex doesn’t seem to think this is a big deal. (They have repaired this leak twice before.) I called them before I went to work on Thursday to remind them to empty the bucket catching water when they came to survey the damage. Of course I came home to a floor covered in water and my downstairs neighbor is now complaining about water leaking into his apartment. It only took them three months to “repair” this leak after Katrina. I wonder how long it will take them this time… Did I mention that rent is cheaper in Denver? The boss is actually in Denver this weekend house hunting with his wife. They are planning to stop by a few apartment complexes I found on the web and let me know what they think. I am not planning to go down until later this year.
