Fantastic Voyage

Warning: The following post contains links to photos of our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos. Looking at the 185 photos can potentially distract you from work, ruin memories of previous vacations and/or cause you to spend your hard earned money by immediately booking a trip of your own. Proceed at your own risk. The Cody Report is not responsible for any actions or efforts you make to reach the state of relaxation found in said photos.

As you may have heard, Kyllan and I honeymooned on the Turks and Caicos island (TCI) of Providenciales (Provo) after our wedding where we stayed at the Regent Palms for 5 nights. (We made several post while on the trip detailing the amazing time we were having: Post 1, 2, 3 and 4 .)

One of the wedding gifts we received from my parents was a Nikon D40x camera. (The other gift was the honeymoon.) With this camera we took over 650 pictures of our trip. We have gone through these pictures and selected 185 honeymoon photos to share with everyone.

Did I mention we plan to go back at some point? Who’s going with us?

Oh, my good friend Neil (also one of my groomsmen) has started blogging again over at the Chronicles of NL. He made a brief post about the wedding entitled “Wedding Bells.”

  1. The Codys know how to do it right! It’s breathtaking even from pictures, so I know you guys must have been in awe.

Depending on when you go BS and I would definitely be interested.

  2. It will be at least a few years before we go back, but we will keep you updated. It was good seeing you at the wedding. Sorry we didn’t get a chance to talk more.

  3. Great pictures…took me a few days to get through them! I am jealous…I’ll never get back to a beach! Sarah hates the ocean and the only way I can get Scott to a beach is if we are on Cocoa Beach watching a launch from Cape Canaveral! Somehow Cocoa Beach just can’t be compared to the pictures that I just saw! Thanks for the mini vacation on my couch!

  4. William and Kyllan- How do we begin to say thank you: Thank you for the vision of love that you have engraved in my heart..Thank you for giving those of us who were blessed to be at your beautiful ceremony and celebration(s!)…Thank you for sharing your journey..AND thank you for showing us what GOD does when generational prayers and praises RETURN to those in whom he finds ultimate favor….I guess, I must simply accept that THANK YOU will have to do for now.
While I was on the phone with your mother this morning (as she called from a medical conference in VEGAS–that woman is unstoppable), your dad called (on the other line) to invite Ken to a sold out football game next weekend. While I can talk to “Auntie Betty” for hours, I was secretly happy to pass on the phone…simply to spend my mommy time on a Saturday morning looking at the “Cody Report”..especially the updates! How awesome it was to see the both of you basking in the island sun, getting some well deserved protected time together, and giving those of us who have yet to send our children successfully into the world, an opportunity to reflect on the “journey” of marriage and family life.
As you know, your family was the “only family” we had some 15 years ago when we moved to Florida. So William, when you met Kyllan 5 years ago, I couldn’t wait to get the details from Betty. When she came to meet your parents for the first time, I still remember the B-line you made from our family room to your car, when you learned that she had make it in early and was at your house with your dad. As I fast forward 4 years from that moment to the wedding, I can only say (again) how very happy I am for the both of you,and how very proud I am to have had the opportunity…via the wedding events, the flicker blogs, the Cody report, and the sentimental moments that I will forever treasure as I watched two of you become ONE. …to have watched your relationship evolve.
As I end my leisurely Saturday morning after my virtual “down time” with NEWEST Mr. and Mrs. Cody, I must end as I began, with the most heartfelt THANK YOU…to you and Kyllan for giving Ken, Joshua, Joi and I a chapter of phenomenal memories from your wedding weekend , and for blessing us with your love and adoration for each other as I watched your honeymoon candids ….PS…Ken sends a “yo nupe” from the other side of our study…PSPS. Kyllan, you are a mother’s dream…As Betty (my role model in motherhood) sings your praise, I pray that my Joshua will one day (circa 2035) be blessed to find a bride and wife as wonderful and beautiful as you!

  5. When we initially looked at the page together both smiling, Stephanie chuckled and blurted “Look at those alcoholics”. (Jokingly)

You know you should watch out for Daiquiris after around 10 you may be drunk.

I felt obligated to view all of the pictures, since the header gave warning of caution when viewing, and I quickly dismissed the claims as invalid. As I clicked rapidly observing feelings and enjoyment, I started to get a little emotional thinking of my cousin Kyllan having so much fun. I caught myself in a daze with a weird smirk on my face, much like how you will find colleges and friends staring at a computer screen and say “What in the world are they doing!”(Then your mind starts to wonder)

Although I was overcome with emotions, I must say to all the readers… I’m not that tolerant of estrogen, I quickly realized the situation I was in and thought about all the cousins and people I have to set an example for. I pounded my chest hard to bring the testosterone levels back up to par, stopped my smile from stretching my lips so wide and proceeded to click with caution.
I made it through the pictures, and the best picture in my opinion is the one with the hotel staff handing you a towel with tongs. WOW!

  6. Kim P, when are we going to get more pictures of the family?

Dr. Johnson, it just doesn’t seem possible that that first thanksgiving dinner was so long ago. We owe you the thank you. Having so many friends and family members at the wedding is one of the things that made the weekend so special for the two of us.
    PS. Yo Yo!

B, I tried to warn you. If you click on the full size version of that photo, you can see the guy that is handing me the towel in the reflection of my sunglasses.

Cherie, I’ve seen you plan a trip before. I am scared of what you come up with for your honeymoon.

  7. Dr. Barbel Johnson- thank you for your extremely kind words. We are very glad that you and your family were able to make it to Texas for the celebration and cannot thank your husband enough for all the work he put into taking pictures and putting the slide show together. Also, William will always take joy in knowing we had “dancing kids at our wedding”, which he finds cute and amazing. Your son obviously contributed greatly to dance floor!! I can’t wait to see the video. I am sure we will all be laughing hysterically again.
Brian- You are silly. Glad you enjoyed the photos.
Nikki and Cherie- I am ready to go back whenever ya’ll are.
Kim P.- leave the kids with the grandparents and go!!
